RECONQUER THE ROCK

Next to the neighbourhood of Campamento, the sands of this beach served as a settlement for the Spanish forces during the last attempt to reconquer the Rock of Gibraltar (18th century). The beach rests on the jetty of a pier and presents in its central area a breakwater that divides the shore into two sections, which are concentrated on the north side of both constructions, the widest area of the strip of dry sand.
