THE DUNAS DE DOÑANA BEHIND THE BEACH

Average length: 2.400 m
Swimming conditions: moderate waters

The ecosystem of the Dunas de Doñana behind the beach and the leisurely flow of the Guadalquivir River form the surrounding area of the Playa de la Calzada. One of its sections is also known as Playa de la Pileta, where you can stroll, sail, sample fresh fish or simply enjoy lying in the sun. Restaurants, a promenade, beach bars, a yacht club and downtown Sanlúcar are right behind you. These are just some of this beach’s tourist attractions. It’s the most frequented beach of the municipality and has all the amenities you need to have a great day at the beach.

At its southwest end, there is a large area of sand behind which there is the horse racing track and the Sanlúcar de Barrameda fairgrounds.
