You've only just eaten all the Christmas treats and the curtain of the Gran Teatro Falla de Cádiz is already rising. The Official Competition of Carnival Groups takes place every January as a foretaste of the street carnival. Thousands of members of choruses, comparsas, quartets and chirigotas line up to perform one after the other in the hope of reaching the much-desired grand finale held on the Friday before carnival Saturday.
